Mucar BT200 Max: what we know, and what to check.

What it is
The Mucar BT200 Max is a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner. It plugs into the car’s OBD2 port and talks to a phone app on Android or iOS. There is no built-in screen.
What the maker says
From the maker’s product page (read November 2, 2026): it reads trouble codes from the engine and other systems, offers 15+ service resets, supports “bi-directional” active tests on supported vehicles, includes AI-assisted diagnostics, and needs “no subscriptions, no annual fees.” The page lists a 12-month warranty and Android 5.0+ and iOS 13+ phone support. The maker’s own store showed $79, marked down from $109, on that date. These are the maker’s statements, not our findings.
What an independent review found
A review by CarXplorer (March 19, 2026) reported a stable connection and no subscription needed for the advertised functions. It also listed limits: no built-in screen, AI guidance that was often too general, some vehicle-specific active tests not available, only a basic quick-start guide, no case, and no ECU coding or programming.
Points in its favor
- Works from your phone; no extra display to buy.
- Maker states no subscription.
- Goes beyond reading codes, per the maker.
Things to weigh
- Needs a charged phone and a compatible app.
- More capable (and usually pricier) than a basic code reader.
- Some functions depend on the vehicle.
- Sources disagree on details such as the app name and Bluetooth version, so read the listing.
Price
Prices and stock change. The figure above is the maker’s own store on November 2, 2026. Amazon’s price may differ, so check the listing before you decide.
Is it right for you?
If you only need to read a code once, a store reading or a basic reader may be enough. If you want live data and extra functions on your own car, a scanner like this can make sense. Check that your vehicle is supported before you buy.
